What Is The Purpose Of YORWW Congregation Having A Creed & The Forty (40) Basic, Fundamental Truth Requirement?

Many people have wondered about the above question and our stand on the Forty (40) Basic, Fundamental Truths, and why we make it a requirement for individual Jehovah's Witnesses to believe these ideas before...before they can join our five (5) Discussion Boards.
Well, its called the YORWW Congregation, isn't it?
Its a congregation of like believers and persons of like faith. (Matthew 18:20) So they are supposed to agree on their beliefs, exactly as first century christians agreed upon their beliefs. Its called the Creed of the Church, as many church organizations have them today, and members agree on these ideas BEFORE they join. It cuts down on confusion. That way, everyone knows UP FRONT, exactly what they are getting themselves in to. (I like the idea myself, after being completely misled by the WTBTS for so long.)
And since everyone thus far all, are either former or current Jehovah's Witnesses, they shouldn’t have a problem with those forty basic truths.
And it is the same way when someone wants to join the YORWW Congregation.

What would you rather see ... total chaos, to be going on over there?
Besides Paul made it crystal-clear, the True Church MUST AGREE . . . must agree on religious ideas, teachings, beliefs and tenets of faith, so that they would preach & teach IN UNISON in the first century. -- See 2 Corinthians 13:11; 1 Timothy 6:1.
In fact, 1st Corinthians 1:10 plainly says:
“I appeal to you brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.” (New International Version)
“But in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I beg of you, brothers, that all of you agree, that you eliminate factions among you, and that you be united in mind and attitude.” (Modern Language Bible)
“I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.” (New Living Translation)
'nuff said.

Hello, 
Thanks for posting this information. It raises a few questions in my mind.
First off,
1. Why do you feel Jehovah's Witnesses have fundamental truths of scripture, taught only by them?
2. And if so, how do you believe they came into possession of these teachings, God or some other source?

Hey Harley B, 
Good questions!
First off, the 40 Basic Truths as taught by Jehovah's Witnesses is what they alone teach. Some religions teach one or two truths but Jehovah's Witnesses' teach all 40 of those bible truths. That is what makes Jehovah's Witnesses different from other religions.
Secondly, oh YES, I think there is no mistake they got those 40 Basics Truths from God, Himself!
Also, the number 40 is special to Jehovah God. Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days. The ancient Israelites were in the wilderness for 40 years. So that number 40 can mean "judgment" too.

Greetings Harley! It's nice that you are here reading and we appreciate your questions. I like the scripture you chose to use, Colossians 3:23, which says:
23 Whatever you are doing, work at it whole-souled* as for Jehovah,*+ and not for men
In a way, this scripture can answer the question you posed. You see, there are literally thousands upon thousands of different religions and different churches within those religions and they teach so many different things that make it hard for somebody to determine what the truth from the bible really is, and not just popular beliefs or teachings handed down from one generation to the next.
So the Jehovah's Witnesses do have 40 basic bible teachings that are found within God's word. In order for them to gain a correct understanding of these 40 teachings, they relied on the bible for this information; It had to be from scripture. That is why in the 40 basic bible teachings list, there are many supporting scriptures listed for you to check. These 40 teachings don't go by what man thinks, but what has been written under inspiration by men. The "author" of those words is God. See 2 Timothy 3:16,17
16 All Scripture is inspired of God+ and beneficial for teaching,+ for reproving, for setting things straight,+ for disciplining in righteousness,+ 17 so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
We, the YORWW Congregation, also accept those same 40 basic, fundamental bible teachings, since they were inspired of God.

Welcome, and thank you for your Questions.
Questions are good because they are a sign of interest. I'll do my best to help you understand our views. 
Jehovah's Witnesses have 40 basic truths.
And while I myself am not a Jehovah's witness any longer, I, as a servant of Jehovah and YORWW Still believe and adhere to them.
I believe these all are from Jehovah himself.
Thinking about the 10 commandments in (Exodus 20:2-8)
Five of the 10 commandment
#1 (25 on list of God's name)
#2 (26 on list of images)
#3 (1 on list of Trinity)
#7 (33 on list of Adultery) and
#9 (40 on list of lying)
These alone are in the 40 basic Bible truths of JW and YORWW. And guess what? The most important of the truths is #1 on the list and, #1 in the 10 commandments God's name Jehovah.
So, yes, I believe these and the rest of these teachings are from Jehovah.
Your second question:
The majority of other religious denominations
believe and teach Trinity and Hellfire and the taking of Blood, for example.
You will see on our 40 fundamental truths list, that . . .
#36 (Trinity)
#20 (Hellfire) and
#32 (Blood)
Are, NOT taught by Jehovah's Witnesses because Jehovah has showed us in his word, the Bible, that these are NOT scriptural and, should not be taught.
These are false teachings.
This is why YORWW members are all in harmony on the same beliefs and teachings.
(Romans 12:16) "Live in harmony with one another"
(1 Peter 3:7-9) " all should be in agreement"
Yes, we are all in agreement and, with Jehovah.
If we are in agreement we are in harmony.

Thanks for the gracious welcome from all.
I faded away from the JW Organization many years ago, thankfully. I got tired of their many lies and blatant untrue teachings before the flock.
As we all know, the Watchtower adherents these days are so foolish in following the Governing Body, hook, line & sinker. They believe anything they say. Correct?
I hope we agree on that fact, do we?
Still, I was wondering just how many of these so-called 40 Basic Truths (that rank & file JWs teach and believe) have each of you guys personally researched, to see how many of them can stand up to the test of time and scholarly research. (See Acts 17:11.)
Not trying to offend anyone. (smile)

That is a fair question you asked. When I left the Jehovah's Witnesses about 20 years ago, I had a similar experience as you. I left because of false teachings and the WT involvement with the UN as an NGO...making them hypocrites! Then they withdrew from the UN just as soon as it was publicly exposed, and lied about the reason that they joined. So it was because of these things that I found out after almost 30 years being associated with Jehovah's Witnesses, I left.
I came to know about YORWW Congregation, but right away some concerns came up for me. I had just left a highly controlling organization that I really thought was the "truth" for so long but proved NOT to be and I didn't want to right away become involved in another group that could turn out to be the same kind of experience, eating up my precious time and energies. So I decided to spend time reading and really researching the teachings of YORWW. That is what I did, went over every article, every scripture and there are a lot of them.
I found out that the 40 basic truths that Jehovah's Witnesses teach are just a "framework" of the truth of Jehovah's word. In it's most elementary form, because there is so much more to what's in the bible for us to learn!!! To answer your question Haley, yes. The 40 basic bible teachings, https://www.singnewsong.com/php3/viewforum.php?f=18 has been thoroughly studied by me and all of us here. It has not been just accepted and "copy and pasted" from the Jehovah's Witness website. We went over these bible teachings ourselves and they were verified by YORWW scripture by scripture.
You had used Acts 17:11, and that is really important that we know what we are being taught is from Jehovah's word and not man's version that may be distorted or somehow contaminated with falsehoods. We can't go wrong if we read and study the bible, because God's word is truth. YORWW Congregation uses the bible to support and defend all it's teachings, and to set the record straight so to speak, regarding the JW's teachings. We break it down and show you exactly why it's a false teaching and what the correct teaching is. The only reason that can be done is because we stick to what's been taught from the bible, sticking to scripture. Your responsibility would be to take on the work of checking all scripture to make sure it is so, for yourself and for you to be able to share truth with others.

It is my pleasure and I am so glad you came back for more "spiritual food".
My situation is different but similar. In that, I didn't fade away, but I did eventually leave.
I was in for 20 years. I started noticing things with the brothers and sisters. Attitudes which did not display the fruits of the spirit Galatians (5: 23,24) among other things.
I found out the worst news ever, that rocked my world!
I found out, that the WTBTS had joined the United Nations as an NGO.
What????
A political Organization!?!
I began thinking about their
beliefs and teachings.
(James 4:4) Friendship with the world is enmity with God".
This is a known, accepted and taught
Bible "Truths or teaching" among Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide. That any Jehovah's Witness does NOT get involved in any political affairs. Not even just to join the YMCA for health benefits. It is in their books, magazines and publications.
Around this time I came into contact with YORWW congregation.
I'm an open-minded person, so I began to read some of the teachings of YORWW.
Hmmmmmmm, made sense. Made sense to me scripturally this far.
So I continued on reading, studying and comparing their, YORWW teachings with what the Bible teaches. Just as a Borean would do

Eventually, I learned about the YORWW's "40 Basic Truth" teachings and yes, I studied them all thoroughly.
I had some questions, several questions actually, I was pleasantly surprised!!!
Guess what?
I was able to ask questions about their teachings. They were all answered, to my understanding and satisfaction, by the Bible.
This is something, every Jehovah's witness knows, that you CAN NOT do with the WTBTS Organization!
No. You do NOT ask questions, you accept their teachings as fact, period end of discussion!
I continued learning Pure Truth from the Bible, taught by YORWW. Every scripture proven. (2 Timothy 2:3-6, James 4:8, John 8:32, John 17:17) That is all I needed! I eventually joined the YORWW congregation, and I continue learning. There is no end to learning about Jehovah.
I encourage you to be like a Borean and look up the scriptures yourself (Acts 17:11)
You then can take comfort in knowing that you didn't just take my word or the word of YORWW, but you researched it for yourself.
