The United States, finally after delayed timelines, is now preparing to deploy its hypersonic weapon Mako.
Lockheed Martin's multi-mission Mako missile is certainly no exception.
The Mako has been privately developed by Lockheed Martin for the last seven years.
Named after the fastest shark in the sea, Mako is poised to put a serious dent in Russia and China's dominance in the field of hypersonic weapons.

Ukraine has for the first time fired US-made ATACMS missiles into Russia. Ukraine and Russia say six of the ballistic missiles targeted a military facility in Russia's western Bryansk region overnight. Moscow says five were shot down by its air defenses. Ukraine has only just received permission from the United States to fire the longer-range missiles at Russia. Moscow described the attack as an escalation marking a new phase in the war.

The US Has Created A New Hypersonic Missile So Advanced That It Is Unstoppable.
Finally, the United States has made notable progress in the development of hypersonic weapons. Until now, this was the only type of weaponry where America was trailing its main competitors, China and Russia, according to experts. In mid-July 2024, the US Army deployed the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), also known as Dark Eagle, for the first time in history.
The LRHW system was deployed by the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force during the Resolute Hunter Exercise at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington. The battery crew received target coordinates from Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft. The target, over 2,500 miles away, was successfully hit.
