The bible repeatedly tells us to use our "thinking ability" and mental processes.

For example, it states: "The naive one believes every word, but the shrewd one considers his steps." Also, "...Offer your sacrifice with the power of reason [thinking ability]."

Then too it says, "...be transformed in mind completely." (See Proverbs 1:1-4; Proverbs 14:15; Romans 12:1, 2; )

But the Watchtower Society says the opposite. Could it be, the Watchtower Society knows: Informed [JW] Members eventually become FORMER [JW] Members!

Hi Abaddon,

The perfect paradigm, we as Americans are told to follow the constitution and the laws in it. But Trump says that going against "his own made-up laws" not from the constitution is 'breaking the law'...his own made-up laws. Then Trump will go after these individuals who defy him, using his own made-up laws. Trump uses his authority to LORD OVER Americans and punish them for going against HIM ... NOT the Constitution.

As followers of Jehovah God, using the WORD OF GOD, the Bible, we discern the TRUTH. Following Bible Truth, we see the paths that God wants us to follow. These are same paths Jesus pointed to when he was on the earth, These are not the paths that GB wants us to even see. That is why JWs are told to NEVER QUESTION the GB but ONLY follow their teachings...which are the teachings of men. This is why studying the bible is NOT, NOT recommended by the GB. But it was recommended by Jesus, himself. And of course, Jehovah God, who sent Jesus to us, as the bible says:

• “16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

So following the bible instead of the GB will get you disfellowshipped. In other words, following the laws of men [Governing Body] as described in the bible:

• “7 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines commands of men.’ 8 Letting go the commandment of God, YOU hold fast the tradition of men.”” (Mark 7:7-8)

Which in our day, back in the eighty's or ninety's this crap of blindly following men would not have flown very well as we were taught to be Beroeans and to prove it (Acts 17:10, 11). The JWs today are told not to even use the bible. Way different scene today for the rank and file. Those basic scriptures above were used during our day. But not today!!!

Wow...is RIGHT! But I had to laugh again at how the "unplugged witness" uses Morpheus's body and sticks his own head on top for his videos. It made me remember the same metaphor from the "Matrix" Movie...the "red pill" or the "blue pill" scene.

But I might add, and say as in the movie, "...if you decide to take the "red pill..." then you have to be willing to "wash your robes in the blood of the Lamb." (Rev. 22:14)
