The missile used in the hit was not an RS-26, as it was stated by the Ukrainian media. It was in fact an experimental missile, called Oreshnik. It has a range of around 1000-3000 km which covers all of Europe. It is important to note that this missile looks very similar to RS-26 (maybe even based on the same platform), which is why Ukrainian officials have identified it as the RS-26 Rubezh.
